ADA Compliant Striping

ADA compliant striping is very important for the disabled.  ADA stands for Americans with Disabilities) and It allows them easy access to the building. It is also very important that businesses comply with and are in compliance with the ADA code. If your property does not have ADA parking lot striping and the correct ADA handicap parking signs installed, Moyers Contracting can assist with getting you into compliance. We follow the ADA parking requirements when striping and doing a new striping layout.  Below is a Chili’s Restaurant on Mill Ave in Tempe that did not have the proper ADA striping and signage. We were hired to correct this because the city cited Chili’s and wanted it done. We blacked out the old striping that interfered and re-striped to the proper code. We also installed one handicap sign and relocated two more handicap signs so that everything looked neat and uniform. The general manager was very happy that they are now ADA compliant.

If your property in the Greater Phoenix Arizona area needs the parking lot striping to be reconfigured, let a licensed contractor with over 20 years experience help you get the job done. We can help you with all facets of parking lot maintenance.

Apartment Complex Parking Lot Striping

We get calls from time to time by people who would like to know if we stripe apartment parking lots. Yes we do. We stripe and re-stripe most any type of business or entity. We stripe on asphalt and on concrete surfaces. Striping Apartment complexes is a little different than regular parking lots. They are usually more closed in and require an extra amount of planning and logistical consideration. Usually cars have to be moved in stages and tenants need to be notified in advance so that they are fully aware of their responsibility to help the process move along as smoothly as possible. Moyers Contracting will work hard to make sure the process is as smooth as possible with the least amount of disruption. Our experience and expertise will stand out and you will be pleased with the result.

Always call on an experienced and licensed contractor for all of your apartment striping and parking lot maintenance needs.

Concrete Filled Pipe Bollards

Concrete filled pipe bollards also known as steel pipe bollards are used for many applications (these are different than concrete bollards). In the parking lot maintenance industry, they are used almost exclusively for protection. They can protect walls, handicap signs, gas tanks, propane tanks, water valves, and ATM machines. We have installed them for all of these applications. We can also do plastic bollard covers.

Many times we will put a sign post in the bollard to protect the sign; mostly a handicap sign, from getting run over or damaged.

Once a bollard is put in, there are some finishing steps to complete. These steps are some of the reasons why we think we stand out from others.
The pipe must be installed deep enough (3′) and enough concrete must be used to keep the pipe solid for years if not decades.
To finish a pipe bollard it has to be filled with concrete and neatly and cleanly rounded off.
The concrete at the base (if it is installed in an existing concrete slab) must be neatly finished.
There can be no spilled concrete on the outside of the pipe. (many will spill it and try to paint over it.)
The pipe has to be painted safety yellow and there can be no overspray on the existing surface.

These are pictures of a recently completed job that had forty barricade panels. The ones shown are the Type A, which are sometimes called the three board barricades. We also do the Type B, which are the one board barricades. In this case, the barricades were used to create a barrier for an undeveloped cul-de-sac that leads to farm land. Barricades are used at the end of roadways to warn traffic that it is not a through street. Often times you will see the warning barricade where a driveway opening leads to future development.

Our barricades are made per the MAG (Maricopa Association of Governments) specification. They are painted with reflective paint and have the diagonal red and white stripes. Be careful, some contractors will paint them without the reflective paint. Where each cross board attaches to the post, they have to have two lag bolts. Be careful, some will put just one.

As you can see by the pictures below, these are straight and plumb. They are clean and spaced properly. We have the experience to get your next safety barricade job done in the Greater Phoenix and surrounding areas. That includes Gilbert, Chandler, Scottsdale, Queen Creek, Tempe and all of Maricopa County. Moyers Contracting covers the entire State of Arizona. Give us a call and we will work hard for you.

What Does Experience Really Mean?

Experience. Every company says that they are experienced. They say they have been in the business for “30 years.” You hear it all the time. This is only half of the story. The other half is the length of time that the actual operators have been in the business. With turnover and attrition, some operators at other companies may have been there two years or five years or six months. Even though the company touts the “experience” factor.

At Moyers Contracting, we are very proud to say that we have been in business for twenty nine years and our field supervisor has been with the company for twenty five years and our foreman has been with Moyers Contracting for 15 years. That means that they take extreme pride in the work while representing Moyers and themselves. We chalk every line so that it is truly straight. We tape off our lines to catch over spray to give the line that crisp look that Moyers Contracting is known for. When making custom signs and other welding projects we grind all welds so that they are smooth.

Think about it from your perspective; would you want a company with “30 years experience” who might send an operator with six months on the job or would you want the true experience that Moyers Contracting brings?

Our employees have a vested interest in the success of the company. If the company does well, they do well. That means that no matter what size job you hire us to do, it will be done with real pride and real integrity and real experience.

If you need your parking lot striped or any other parking lot maintenance project such as signage, bumper curb, pipe bollards, or barricades, Moyers Contracting can get the job completed for you.

Parking Lot Stencils

Parking lot stencils can come in all shapes and sizes. At first thought, many people think that stencils are just 3″ to 4″ tall on a curb denoting a certain parking spot for the manager or they can simply say “Reserved.” However, stencils can come in all shapes and sizes. In the last twenty two years, Moyers Contracting has done stencils of all shapes and sizes ranging from 4″ “fire lane no parking” stencils to 8′ tall “stop” stencils. We have done 8′ “loading” stencils and 2′ “stop” stencils. Recently. we did some stecils in the Dunkin’ Doughnut parking lot. We have stenciled names, titles and numbers. We have stencils “Starbucks Parking Only” and “Reserved for Vice President.” Also, the painted square in handicap parking stalls is called a “handicap stencil.”

If you need stencils in your parking lot or at your home give us a call and we can begin working on your project.

Concrete Splash Blocks

Moyers Contracting makes concrete splash blocks in our yard and we usually have 10-12 in stock for pickup.  We can make most any number you need with in reason if we have plenty of notice since we only pour a few at a time.

There are two sizes of concrete splash blocks; the large which are about 24″x 24″ and the small which are about 12″x 24″. The small ones are manageable but the large ones are quite heavy. It is recommended that two people lift these. If your job requires concrete splash blocks or you want to have a stock pile of them, give us a call and we can talk about your needs.

America Runs on Dunkin’

Recently we were hired to do some striping and stenciling at a Dunkin’ Doughnuts in Phoenix. What an interesting job this was. The striping part was normal white and yellow. The “America Runs on Dunkin’ ” stencil was an interesting change from the norm. We don’t just “eyeball” it when placing stencils, we chalk a line and make sure that everything is lined up properly. We think it turned out great and is quite a marketing angle. If Dunkin’ likes the way this looks, we are going to be adding them to more locations in the near future. This stencil will do two obvious things as we see it; first you know where the drive thru lane starts and second you are reminded why you are there. Why are you there? Because America Runs on Dunkin’. Or is it that Arizona Runs on Dunkin’? That seems to be the case lately since so many are opening up everywhere. Just like this stencil, if you need other stencils or striping, or any parking lot maintenance, please give us a call.

Painted Red Curb

The Gilbert Fire Department has been visiting every business in Gilbert making sure that they are complying with all of the city fire codes. One of the violations that many businesses have is that their painted red fire lane curb has faded and needs to be re-painted. That is one of the services that Moyers Contracting provides. Our operators take great pride in making sure that your painted red curb is done to perfection. We tape off the edges and lay down roofing felt when needed to catch the overspray. This gives the clean crisp look that we are known for. If the painted red fire lane curb item is marked on your check list, please give us a call and we will come out and measure what is needed and give you a price to do the work. We are in Gilbert, so we can look at it and schedule it in a timely manner. We also do fire lane signs, and other fire department related signs. Give us a call or recommend us to your neighbor.

We also paint red curb in Chandler, and re-paint fire lane curb in Mesa, and if the fire department requires that you have red curb painting or fire lane signs in Phoenix, we can do it there too.  Moyers Contracting has the experience to do the job to your satisfaction.
